Michael Olesen

Director of Applications and Technology

Michael Olesen joined Nano Green Technology as the director of applications and technology. He has a long history in the semiconductor industry, with more than 43 years of comprehensive experience in all aspects of wet chemical cleaning for F.E.O.L. and B.E.O.L. applications.

Olesen began his career in 1965 at Fairchild Camera as a process development engineer. He subsequently worked for SMIEL, part of Montedison Group in Novara, Italy, as director of technology and as plant manager. In 1978, Olesen returned to the US to work for Monsanto Electronic Materials Co. as manager of the Equipment Engineering Group, then as manager of the Technical Services Department worldwide, and finally as a senior specialist for advanced cleaning technology. Olesen also worked for VERTEQ as director of process application technology and as a senior member of the technical staff and principal scientist for advanced technology.

In 2001, Olesen started a consulting business, Clean Wafer Technology, which had contracts with Applied Materials and IMTEC-Acculine. In 2002, he joined IMTEC-Acculine as chief technology officer.

Olesen has been granted 8 patents in the areas of silicon wafer cleaning and drying, including one in damage-free megasonic cleaning. He has authored 8 technical papers and been a speaker at numerous industry conferences and roundtables.
